The Governor of Kep City and a senior Kep administration official have been arrested by Anti-Corruption (ACU) officials.

Kep Provincial Deputy Governor Bun Yong said that Kep City Governor Kheng Yan and the Chief of the Administration Department were detained by ACU officials after a meeting at Kep City Hall at 11 am yesterday.

Yong said the duo were taken by the ACU officers to Phnom Penh for questioning.

“The authorities did not state the reason why the two men were detained and taken to Phnom Penh,” Yong said.

“We will wait for the authorities to tell us about the arrests,” he added.

Yong said the oldest deputy governor of Kep City with the most work experience will be temporarily in charge of Kep City Administration.

ACU President Om Yentieng could not be reached for comment yesterday.
